A Mexican zookeeper, Eduardo Serio, was saved by a tiger, who knocked down a leopard that was sneaking up behind him.
The zookeeper was filmed leaning down while ‘speaking’ with a group of lions relaxing on the grass.
The leopard called Dharma then began lurking in the background and then slowly stalked Serio.
The leopard then sprints and leaps toward the handler but, Aztlan the tiger who was only a few meters away, pounces into the path of Dharma, knocking her off track.
Dharma then became submissive and rolled onto the ground as Serio thanks Aztlan in Spanish and gives him a congratulatory pat.
Serio created the Black Jaguar White Tiger Foundation which rescues and cares for over 240 big cats including jaguars, tigers, leopards, lynxes, lions and pumas from a life of abuse in circuses and zoos.
The foundation works with the Mexican Government and they don’t breed their animals.
